  1. Lars Fosdal​​ a bicycle qualifies as “no car at all”. A new car can never be as environmentally friendly as an old car (if the latter is reasonable clean), because its production will need energy and resources and generate lots of pollution. The old one has already been produced. So driving an old car until it falls apart is better for the environment than buying a new one, regardless how “clean” the new one might be.
