Maximus Konstantine Von Hurst It’s known as socialism and works well for the Scandinavian countries. No poverty, free healthcare and education for all. If anything – it’s about not being self-righteous, arrogant, or complacent – and about improving life for all of us.
I am Norwegian and live in Norway, and you commented on my post. I have no need or desire to convince you that this system appears to work better than “every man for himself”, which seems to be the republican way. There is no single perfect system, but the mix of market economy and a social tax profile works well. Oddly enough – those that complain most about the tax, usually are among those that pay the least or reap most benefits.
The “outrageous” taxes ensures that everybody have the same opportunities (and rights) to healthcare, social security and education. Will there be “freeloaders”? Sure. However, you won’t a large percentage of the population living under the poverty limit, living on handouts and food stamps, or being bankrupted because they were in an accident and didn’t have insurance.

How your Swedish father-in-law can pay 90% tax is a bit of a mystery, since the heaviest taxation for personal income above 617k SEK/year, is limited to 56-57% or so (https://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skatt_i_Sverige)
As for corporate taxes, Norway is on top with 24%+ – but Sweden is not very high on that list. https://data.oecd.org/chart/4kUF
I think Sanders would be a great president for the US – but I don’t think he has a running chance – unless there is a grass root revolt. Should he make it against the odds – there is no chance that the senate and congress would let him socialize the US – so I don’t think you need to worry at a level where you feel the urge to forbid me to speak my mind.
Maximus Konstantine Von Hurst: I live and have grown up in Sweden and though we have had our welfare state slowly dismantled the last 20 years by opportunist career politicians infiltrating the traditionally powerful socialist party, it is still a comparatively peaceful, ordered, fair and open country to live in were even poor immigrants still have basic welfare benefits.
I know there are a fair amount of critics to the traditional swedish model, but they make up less than a third of the population.
Adam Hamilton I judge people by their actions, not by their words. Judging people by a book, any book, is an act of ignorance at best, or an act of evil, at worst.
Renee Wieland – You really need to study up on the differences between communism and modern socialism. Modern socialism is capitalism with mechanisms that ensure that the 1% doesn’t grow fat on exploiting the masses – i.e. you and I – and that you and I have the same rights to health care, a decent wage, and good shared services – such as roads, garbage collection, water supply, electricity, etc. What did Trump ever do for someone that wasn’t him?
Renee Wieland The two hardly have anything in common. Communism is about nobody owning anything. Socialism is all of us ensuring that everyone has something.

Maximus Konstantine Von Hurst Did you know that Norway has more billionaires per capita than the US?

My post is a reshare where I added the text “This is a good man!”. That is the post you have been commenting on.
Mostly, it is shades of gray – some dark, and some light.

Yep your right man
Renee Wieland A narcissist with the impulse control of a toddler and no diplomatic skills what so ever, would be an interesting president
