A pair of wild goannas fighting in the rainforest behind my house
Only watch this if you’re into gory wildlife action sans David Attenborough commentary. Or even overly dramatic History Channel commentary.
It’s just me with my phone getting rather closer than I probably should to a pair of wild lizards each of which is roughly around 5′ / 1 1/2m long. Which is about how big I am.

Includes one of the goannas whipping me with its tail, both of them pausing to smile for the camera, and then one of them looking very pointedly at me and where I was standing and he clearly indicated that I should get out of the way. Which I did. And immediately the lizard flipped the other one onto the spot where I’d just been.

I almost stuck my hand in close for scale, but I do have a modicum of sense. Let me know if you find it. At least I brought snacks.
