Let the benchmarking commence!

Let the benchmarking commence!

“With RAD Studio XE4, developers can be sure they are getting the best performance possible to deliver the ultimate user experiences on iOS devices, PCs, and Macs, with True Native compiled code and as announced for later this year True Native for Android, too!”

  1. I’ve rarely seen a performance problem in a real world application where the developer could legitimately blame it on the compiler. In most cases its a design problem. Even if the compiler is to blame for a particular performance problem it is the application developer’s responsibility to work around it.

I’ve seen just as many benchmarks where VM and JIT languages win as I have where native languages win.

The only metric that really matters to me is developer productivity.
