Mike Kerwin It’s thermodynamics – if you have liquids with two different temperatures, there is an energy potential between them which can be tapped.  So you use a little energy to heat the liquid on one side, and use the cooling effect from the ocean on the other side – hey presto – more energy potential that can be tapped.
