  3. This is also a big problem when you’re cutting a closed frame, like chopping a bike frame up.  The frame has internal stress that’ll grab a cutoff wheel as it breaks through and hoo boy does that get exciting.

  4. John Bump It’s also a major concern in vehicle extrication. Firefighters get whacked when big metal parts (already under stress from the deformed frame) suddenly gain their freedom if they aren’t prepared for it.
