It’s a rare thing in the corporate world that a giant, mega corporation helps out small startups without any profit motive whatsoever, so this program is truly a remarkable case.
Not that Google will get nothing from it: all participants agree to join a patent licensing network meant to help reduce patent trolling and litigation that may harm both corporate bottom-lines and consumers.
