Dear gods above, people. At this point I’d hold anyone voting for him criminally responsible if he does make it into the White House.

Surely this is business as usual for the US though? Just said in a blunter fashion.
Isn’t that a key point in diplomacy – avoiding the bluntness?
I guess, but a quick look at the middle east (and many other places) right now doesn’t give me much faith in current methods.
Thomas Morffew – Well, dropping bombs ain’t exactly diplomacy either. More like a blunt stick.
😉
Governments are formed out of your evils. The world is crazy, so many dumbasses that won’t listen to logic or reason. It’s time we have someone willing to swing a big club and get this place under control. Trump talks big on these topics, but reality, he’s a negotiator and businessman that rather ratify a mutually beneficial deal. But it’s a great tactic to make the counter-party think you’re a big threat to respect you.
Swinging big clubs is what got us into this mess in the first place.
Either you’re the dominant party or the submissive party. Pick one.
There are so many more effective ways to be the dominant party, than just dropping bombs. Imagine if the west had rolled in with industry, education and healthcare – instead of tanks. Violence -> More violence.
Lars Fosdal The US gave EU a huge massive break and it’s continuing to do it today at expense of it’s economy. It’s staving off from raising interest rates it badly needs to do to correct the American economy and prevent many large pensions from going bust. If they raise it anymore, everyone is going to turn in their Euros for USD and collapse the EU economy that everyone knows is over and terrible idea.
The US did this same thing after WW2 and actually gave a mega ton of money to EU to rebuild, along with assistance that you stated.
Apparently they left the history books off the ships. Opps.
I’m not sure what you are comparing the Marshall assistance with, really, but I was talking about the wars in the middle east (Irak, Syria, Afghanistan).
People in those regions only understand force. You can’t negotiate with them, just buy a few off here and there, but they’ll all in the end come for your head given the chance.
Dude, you really need to travel more.
