James Taylor – Spoken dialect? No, not really – although there are three official languages in Norway:
Bokmål – which is the biggest
Nynorsk – which is more dialect centric
Sami – which is the native language of the Sami people.
If you want to pick up written Norwegian, you would probably want to go for Bokmål.
That said – it is quite funny to meet immigrants and refugees who had their first years in different parts of Norway. They usually have a acquired a quite distinct spoken dialect from that region 🙂
