  1. Yes it is. If we produce fuel from CO2 (which would otherwise be released into the air or comes from air) we replace fossil fuel. We don’t release the additional CO2 that would come from burning this fossil fuel, so that’s a net reduction.

  2. Basically this converts existing CO2 to methane that burns cleanly without by-products.

    Since methane can also be used to create carbon based polymers.

    Which means no fossil sources would be needed any more as either fuel, or source for many plastics.
