I just tried to watch the second episode of the DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. I had a bad feeling after seeing the first episode and I didn’t make it through the second one. It seems I am allergic to vacuous crap.

Who the hell picked the cast and okayed that script?
What a total waste of time :(

  1. Eh, I give these shows a chance. I’m not saying it’s going to be like AoS, but AoS started out kind of bad too, but the cast is building up character etc.

There was a bit of drama in the beginning putting people together and it’s just now settling in to ok, everyone together and whatnot.

    Do you watch Arrow/The Flash?

  2. I can deal with the occasional superhero movie, but I haven’t had any interest in investing significant time in superheroes since I was a kid. I’ve given a bunch of shows lately a try, none of them made me want to keep watching.

  3. I don’t mind superheroes. I mind poor story lines, bad casting, bad acting, and a complete lack of connection with the viewers. Why is it that Marvel have the touch, while DC presents dud after dud?
I’m not really a fan of Arrow – too much soap factor. The Flash is a bit better, but it doesn’t grab you and hold on.

  4. Over-cast, over-produced, and overwhelmingly UNDER written. They needed to back off trying to impress me and just write some great scripts.

SHIELD in contrast had a casting problem that’s worked itself out because the actors finally found a groove and because the story moves so rapidly you forget the major fails quickly when they do happen.

  5. I gave them both a chance. Daredevil had cool fight scenes and that was about it, and I liked the comics Jessica Jones is based on a lot better than the show. (I do occasionally read some superhero comics when people I trust say they’re worth it, Alias turned out to be pretty good.)

  6. Well, picking a bad cast was actually the point. They are all class B and C heroes. They got picked because they had no relevant change to the timeline if they went missing. Kinda a big “screw you” to those heroes, but it’s not too bad of a series I find.

It really helps if you follow the Flash and Arrow as well as they all tie together.

  7. I lost interest in Arrow quickly. Enjoyed Flash up to the end of season 1, but lost interest after a few episodes into season 2. I’m hanging in there with Gotham for now.
Otherwise I’m binge watching the old X-files and whatever else I discover on Netflix and YouTube.

  8. Tom Gray The problem with several of the cast is that you already know their entire range of emotions, and you have seen them in paranoia soap drama before. It would have been better to use new faces.
