  1. Stéphane Wierzbicki Unlikely to occur in US either. One or two were busted for committing obvious fraud at the time but those stories didn’t get a lot of social media uptake.

  2. The law should be enforced no matter who breaks it. That’s how we can have a functioning society. But every country has different laws… Obviously things happened that shouldn’t have happened, causing the credit crunch, but were laws actually broken or were the laws we had insufficient to make this wrongdoing illegal?

    (I genuinely don’t know)

  3. if we are looking to punish all the people that had a finger in it, then, the list is fairly long actually…

    there are many measures in place to ensure that no big surprise happens and keeps the honest man honest.

    questions:
    “should we or shouldn’t we …”
    – also jail the people that went for loans far bigger than they could cope with?
    – take a look at all gov tentacles that should have ensured that something like this doesn’t happen? in a nutshell, uncle sam lost control;
    – I refuse to believe — until proven otherwise — that all bankers fall in the same bucket, if my gut feeling is correct, how can we ensure that justice is being made for the handful of bankers that didn’t profit together with the horde?

    IMO, the problem is more complex that it may seem at first glance and we should approach it and implement measures with care.
